Radyne Ships $1.6 Million Order for China Mobile Phone Network

Posted on: Tuesday, 6 December 2005, 09:00 CST

PHOENIX, Dec. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Radyne Corporation announced today that it completed shipment of a previously undisclosed order of over $1.6 million to ChinaSat Communications Group. The order consisted of Radyne's DMD-20 satellite modems that will be used to provide backhaul for GSM mobile phone service. The DMD-20, the world's most flexible modem, features ease of installation that is ideally suited for use in mobile phone networks. This follow-on order comes on the heels of similar orders for mobile phone applications in India and Pakistan.

"This customer chose Radyne as their preferred supplier after consideration of competitive offerings," said Bob Fitting, Radyne's CEO. "The DMD-20 Universal satellite modem provides more features than any other satellite modem in the industry. For example, it has capability to handle both 70 Mhz and L-Band enabling this single product to be used at the GSM hubs and BTS sites resulting in lower sparing and training expense, and is interoperative with most competitor's equipment."
