Software Council of Southern California Announces Call for 2006 Software Industry Awards Nominations

TORRANCE, Calif., Dec. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- The Software Council of Southern California has issued a call for nominations for the organization's twelfth annual Software Industry Awards. The awards are presented to individuals and companies that have made extraordinary contributions to the growth of Southern California as a center for technological innovation.
The nominees for the 2006 event will compete for one of seven awards: Software CEO of the Year, Software Company of the Year, Software Entrepreneur of the Year, Software Services Company of the Year, Software Developer of the Year, CIO of the Year, and Internet Company of the Year.
Nominations must be received by January 13, 2006. Nominees do not need to be a member of the Software Council, but must be headquartered in Southern California. Full details of the nomination process and award criteria can be found on the Software Council Web site, http://www.scsc.org/.

Category winners from the 2005 Awards include CEO of the Year, George Kurtz, Foundstone Corporation; Entrepreneur of the Year, Chris Capdevila, Logicial Apps; Software Developer of the Year, Integrien Corporation; Software Company of the Year, Epicor Software Corporation; and Software Services Company of the Year, Kintera.
The awards will be presented at a gala dinner ceremony to be held March 8, 2006 at the historic Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. PST. Presented by the Software Council, the awards are sponsored by Dorsey & Whitney, Silicon Valley Bank, CJ Patrick Company, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Ruder Finn.
