OCEANPORT, N.J.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–June 19, 2003–Tellium (Nasdaq:TELM) announced today that Dr. Nico Wauters, the company’s sales engineering director for Europe, will speak at IIR’s WDM & Metro Optical Networking conference in Cannes, France June 30 through July 4.
Dr. Wauters’ presentation, “Quantifying The Extent To Which Supporting Optical Service Provisioning Will Enable You To Differentiate From Your Competitors,” will be made on Thursday, July 3 at the Hotel Noga Hilton in Cannes.

About Nico Wauters
Dr. Nico Wauters is Tellium’s sales engineering director for Europe. He joined the company as a senior network engineer in November 2000. Before joining Tellium, Dr. Wauters worked for GTS Carrier Services, a telecommunications carrier, where he was responsible for managing the company’s network planning and design group. Previously, he worked in research and development at GTS, where he was responsible for developing the company’s medium- and long-term network architecture strategy. Before joining GTS, Dr. Wauters worked on multi-wavelength optical transmission and optical networking techniques at IMEC, a Flemish research institute. Dr. Wauters holds a Ph.D. in telecommunication engineering from the University of Gent.
