Flight Explorer Appoints Shawn Mechelke Vice President of Operations

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Flight Explorer (FE), a global aircraft tracking and information technology solutions provider to the aviation community, today announced the appointment of Shawn Mechelke as vice president of operations. Mechelke will be responsible for all operations activities of the company including integration of Flight Explorer's Aircraft Situational Display (ASD) product into customer environments and providing outsourced information technology solutions, consultation, and support for airlines and corporate flight centers.

Prior to joining Flight Explorer, Mechelke spent 13 years working as a dispatcher, supervisor, and manager in the flight operations division at ATA Airlines, the tenth largest major United States air carrier. During his tenure at ATA, Mechelke managed all operational and technical programs related to flight operations and dispatch within the System Operations Control Center. He has served on various industry committees within the Air Transport Association, FAA, and RTCA.

Mechelke holds a B.S. in aeronautical studies and minor in meteorology from the John D. Odegard School of Aerospace Sciences at the University of North Dakota and he is also a graduate of the Sheffield School of Aeronautics. Mechelke and the operations division of Flight Explorer will be based in Peachtree City, Georgia.
