Advanced Technology Systems today announced that it has been awarded a five year, $20 million contract from the General Services Administration (GSA) to support the Architect of the Capitol's (AOC) Information Technology Division (ITD).
Under this new contract, Advanced Technology Systems will supply a team of more than 30 people to provide technology infrastructure and security operations support for the ITD. This team will assist the ITD with network engineering, network and help desk operations, and IT security planning. In addition, Advanced Technology Systems will conduct application development, web development, and content management on 10 web sites, including the public web site for AOC (www.aoc.gov) and the United States Botanic Garden (www.usbg.gov), using Microsoft and ColdFusion platforms.
"Advanced Technology Systems is excited to be part of our nation's effort to maintain and preserve the buildings and infrastructure that make up the US Capitol Complex," said Doug Manning, Vice President of Operations at Advanced Technology Systems. "This project builds on our accomplishments at the Law Library of Congress, where we designed, developed, host, and provide infrastructure support for the Global Legal Information Network (www.glin.gov). The win at AOC capitalizes on this effort and increases our support in our country's Legislative Branch."
The Architect of the Capitol is responsible to the United States Congress for the maintenance, operation, development, and preservation of the United States Capitol Complex, which includes the Capitol, the congressional office buildings, the Library of Congress buildings, the Supreme Court building, the U.S. Botanic Garden, the Capitol Power Plant, and other facilities.
