Tacoma’s Click! Internet Service Back in Operation
By Marcelene Edwards, The News Tribune, Tacoma, Wash.
Dec. 8–Click! Network’s Internet service was working again Thursday afternoon after about 16 hours of interrupted service, company officials said.
Many of the company’s customers were unable to check out Web sites or read e-mail Wednesday night and Thursday morning. The cause: one of Click!’s routers failed. The device is an important piece of the network that figures out where an e-mail message or data from a Website will go. Employees routed all of the messages traveling through Click!’s servers through one router, causing lots of backup.
