Turkey's private airline starts flights to Iraq's Sulaymaniyah city
ANKARA, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- Turkey's private airline Fly Air started on Saturday its flights from the largest city Istanbul to Iraq's Sulaymaniyah city.
The semi-official Anatolia news agency reported that 37 passengers were aboard the first flight from Istanbul to Sulaymaniyah.
Kaya Nomaler, deputy director general of the airline company, was quoted as saying that the renewal of flights would enhance economic and cultural relations between the two neighboring nations and contribute to peace and friendship between them.
Fly Air will fly between the two cities twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays, according to the rpeort.
On Friday, the private airline already launched its flights to another Iraqi city of Irbil.
