OnDemand Software Unveils Personal Navigator V8.7 Featuring Enterprise Software Project Implementation Enhancements

Incorporates Test Plan integration with Mercury Quality Center(TM), Additional Publishing Options, and Expanded Support for Oracle and SAP Applications
OnDemand Software, a division of Global Knowledge, today released OnDemand Personal Navigator(TM) v8.7, incorporating several enhancements to assist project managers with complex enterprise software application implementations.
OnDemand Personal Navigator, the company's flagship product, is an enterprise software implementation and training management platform supporting integrated, synchronized content development for business process documentation, test scripts, tailored role-based training and performance support. OnDemand Personal Navigator supports all phases of a software rollout project lifecycle - from blueprinting, design, configuration, testing and documentation to training and ongoing learning support.
The new version now offers the ability to export Test Documents as manual test plans to Mercury Quality Center, additional publishing outputs, and expanded object recognition. OnDemand Personal Navigator enables organizations, including 850 of the Global 2000 largest companies, to realize the benefits of their enterprise applications by increasing user adoption, reducing training costs and reducing the amount of time it takes to develop training content.
Earlier this month, Oracle Corporation agreed to standardize on the OnDemand Personal Navigator technology to develop the Oracle User Productivity Kit (UPK). The Oracle UPK will include prepackaged learning content for all of its enterprise applications, ensuring that Oracle customers can deploy enterprise applications more successfully and providing a consistent and proven approach to enhance ROI for Oracle implementations.
"The new version of OnDemand Personal Navigator incorporates customer and partner-driven enhancements to support all phases of enterprise software project implementations," said Kevin Riley, President, OnDemand Software. "By using OnDemand Personal Navigator to address a broad range of implementation needs throughout the enterprise software deployment project, companies are better positioned to realize ROI from their enterprise software investment and develop a learning platform that supports enterprise software deployments in the future."
"Companies are required to derive the greatest value from enterprise software deployments and our experience shows that Organization Readiness activities during such an initiative are often underestimated, or at least de-prioritized when timelines are in jeopardy. Good program managers look for intelligent use of technology combined with strong planning and sequencing of effort to ensure minimum re-work and the greatest amount of efficiency possible," said Paul Raknes, Senior Manager, Deloitte. "OnDemand Personal Navigator provides a platform to ensure successful enterprise application deployments. With the integration of OnDemand Personal Navigator and Mercury Test Director, the testing phase can be reduced by at least 20 percent over creating test scripts manually. This innovation brings huge efficiencies into the overall program and in our industry, efficiencies generally translate to cost savings."
Enhanced features offered by OnDemand Personal Navigator v8.7 include:
Test Script Export Capabilities - Enables developers to capture all transactional procedures in their software, publish all of their procedures as Test Documents, and, for the first time, export the Test Documents as manual tests into Mercury Quality Center(TM). Mercury Quality Center allows customers to deploy high-quality applications quickly and effectively by providing a consistent, repeatable process for gathering requirements, planning and scheduling tests, analyzing results, and managing defects and issues.
Additional Publishing Options - Provides document output capabilities in PDF format. In addition to the standard Word output format, users can now publish documents in PDF format. Another unique feature is the ability to publish content for specific roles to enable content developers to quickly and efficiently deploy business processes and training content to specific job roles within the organization.
Expanded Object Recognition - Automatically recognizes fields/objects, user interactions, and screens for SAP CRM and Business Warehouse, Oracle eBusiness Suite and JD Edwards Enterprise One applications. This object recognition enables training content developers to quickly and easily develop and deploy sophisticated content solutions without IT or development expertise. In addition, context information is captured to support the deployment of your content through context sensitive help menu integration.
Language Support - Supports Chinese language. In total, the platform is available in 11 languages.
