Alereon Names Yung Han Vice President of Sales for Asia; Opens First International Office in Hong Kong

December 12, 2005

Alereon, a leading fabless semiconductor company developing wireless solutions for the Ultrawideband (UWB) and Wireless USB markets, today announced the addition of Yung Han as vice president of sales for Asia and the opening of its first international office in Hong Kong. Mr. Han will play a key role in developing Alereon’s presence in the region by overseeing sales in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, China and the ASEAN region. He has 25 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, with a strong background in management, marketing, sales, and engineering in Asia and the United States.

Prior to joining Alereon, Han served as vice president of sales and marketing in the Asia Pacific region for ON Semiconductor. Han was responsible for providing solutions to the wireless communication and portable consumer, computing, power supply and automotive markets. Prior to ON, Han served in several executive marketing positions for Siliconix and Temic Semiconductors overseeing sales and marketing activities in Korea before moving into a representative for the entire Asia Pacific region.

In 1992, Han co-founded and served as CEO of INEX Technologies, a company that developed and marketed notebook computers with an emphasis on wireless cellular data communication. INEX successfully developed and implemented CDPD wireless products directly connected to notebook computers.

“Yung Han is a talented addition to Alereon’s senior staff and we are pleased to have him help introduce our product lines to these growing UWB markets,” said Eric Broockman, chief executive officer of Alereon. “His expertise, including 11 years of living and working in Asia, will expand Alereon’s presence throughout the Asia Pacific market.”

“There is tremendous interest in Alereon’s UWB solutions among portable electronics, personal computer and consumer electronics manufactures in Asia,” said Han. “The region is primed for growth. As was illustrated by Korea and Japan’s recent move to publish proposed UWB regulations, this technology is moving from the lab to the marketplace. The market is looking to Alereon for the most advanced solutions.”

Han graduated from Oregon State University, USA, with a master’s degree in electrical engineering.

Alereon’s new Hong Kong office is located at Room 1006, World-Wide House, 19 Des Voeux Road Central, Central, Hong Kong. The telephone number is +852-2231-9693.
