Pravir Chandra Rejoins Secure Software As Chief Security Architect

Secure Software, the authority in automated application security products and process technology, today announced the appointment of Pravir Chandra to chief security architect. Chandra co-founded Secure Software with Chief Technology Officer John Viega in 2001, and will lead the Company's security research and analysis teams.

As chief security architect at Secure Software, Chandra will work extensively in design and development of static analysis and optimizing compiler techniques for automated detection of software vulnerabilities. Chandra will leverage his expertise to help Secure Software in the Company's ongoing commitment to build tools that enable the location and remediation of flaws in software code during the development lifecycle.

Chandra has extensive experience in language-level security and research. He has spoken at a number of prestigious industry events and is the author of several articles and books including "Network Security with Open SSL," the leading reference book for the world's most popular open-source cryptographic toolkit. Chandra's work experience includes management at America Online, Inc., where his team was responsible for critical security infrastructure for the company. Prior to that, Chandra spent time at Widevine Technologies and Cigital, where he performed advanced research on programmatic security assurance and developed a number of language extensions for source code analysis.
