CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 19, 2003--
MetiLinx Joins HP OpenView Solution Alliance Program to Provide HP
OpenView Customers With Real-Time View of Data Center Resource
Utilization
MetiLinx, Inc., a leading provider of system optimization software and solutions for complex IT environments, today announced they have joined the HP OpenView Solutions Alliance Program at the Solution Partner level with their integration of MetiLinx' flagship iSystems Enterprise software with HP's OpenView Service Navigator. The integration of MetiLinx' solution allows HP OpenView customers to view their IT resource utilization in real-time, and across virtual pools of servers and applications.
The MetiLinx integration to HP OpenView will be demonstrated during the HP Software Forum from June 16th to 20th at the Chicago Hilton in the MetiLinx kiosk (booth #98).
MetiLinx' integration enables HP OpenView Service Navigator to leverage MetiLinx' dynamic system topology map, and real-time performance and utilization statistics across virtual pools of servers and across application transaction paths which results in:
-- easier deployment and operations of Service Navigator that
reflects real-time changes in system resource utilization,
-- simplified deployment of service level management of a
networked server environment, and
-- optimized services and procedures that are relevant to
businesses today.
IT is under immense pressure from the business to ensure service availability at the lowest possible cost. MetiLinx software enables businesses to manage, integrate and optimize their IT systems for the highest efficiency levels while reducing costs. In conjunction with HP OpenView, the joint solution significantly reduces the resources and expertise required to manage complex networked server environments by automating many system management tasks, and shortens the time required to diagnose and resolve problems and to avoid potential problems and downtime. MetiLinx adds value to HP OpenView by providing both intelligence and dynamic management to direct transactions around ailing, poor performing, busy or downed servers, all in real-time. The result is a networked server environment that enables customers to achieve:
-- Reduced total cost of operations by 25% to 50%
-- Increased overall system performance in excess of 40%
-- Increased system reliability, availability and uptime to
99.999%
"Our longstanding relationship with HP is a critical piece of accelerating MetiLinx' go-to-market success on a global scale since HP OpenView is the market leader in the Enterprise management market," said Larry Ketchersid, executive director of Services and Support at MetiLinx. "MetiLinx's integration with HP OpenView Service Navigator allows administrators to view resource utilization from a single source for the computing environment. Those capabilities are now packaged in a way that our joint customers can also benefit from the cost savings and performance."
"We are pleased to be able to offer customers the choice of approaches to real-time server optimization," said Todd DeLaughter, vice president and general manager, HP OpenView Business Unit. "Both the reliable and flexible performance management enabled by HP OpenView Performance and the dedicated supply demand matching capabilities of MetiLinx iSystems Enterprise software can be deployed as Adaptive Management extensions to our core service-driven HP OpenView Operations solution."
For data center managers who want to automate real-time load balancing and service impact analysis without worrying about the details, the MetiLinx-HP OpenView integration takes the customer closer to lights out operations.
MetiLinx Expands HP OpenView Service Navigator
MetiLinx' infrastructure management software creates system resource metrics that can be populated into HP OpenView Service Navigator. The combination of MetiLinx and HP OpenView Service Navigator creates a management server environment that maximizes IT assets. MetiLinx' capabilities extend Service Navigator by:
-- dynamically provisioning and automatically partitioning from
free pools of servers to add and subtract capacity on demand
-- natively mapping all pools of servers into logical groupings
of servers that perform a service and business process
-- capturing more detailed and more frequent measurements on the
health of the server environment
-- managing, in real-time, complex and sophisticated
heterogeneous server environments generating additional alarms
and reports based on MetiLinx metrics to improve productivity
of IT staff
Working with HP OpenView
In addition to the integration of iSystems Enterprise into HP's OpenView Service Navigator, MetiLinx has integrated the MetiLinx solution with HP OpenView Operations and Network Node Manager. MetiLinx provides additional integrated alarms and performance measurements in real-time on virtual pools of resources, as well as on transaction paths. This is critical for activities like monitoring service level agreements (SLAs), capacity planning, and root-cause analysis. Through the integration with HP OpenView Operation and HP OpenView Network Node Manager, automated alerts are created in real-time for pools of capacity, as well as on transaction paths.
