By Dawn S Onley, GCN Staff

The Defense Information Systems Agency has awarded a $44 million software and systems engineering contract to Data Systems Analysts, Inc. of Fairfax, Va.

Under the five-year contract, Data Systems Analysts will support the National Gateway Center, located at Fort Detrick, Md., with software and systems engineering and command and control messaging requirements. This work also includes software lifecycle maintenance.

"Additionally, DSA will provide the engineering support required to ensure interoperability of all organizational messaging users on Defense Message System," according to a company release.

The company will support C2 messaging requirements between multiple programs, like DMS and the legacy AUTODIN, a more than 50-year-old, bulk messaging system through which users ship electronic memos via military message centers.
