Posted on: Thursday, 15 December 2005, 09:00 CST

Clarus Systems, the leading provider of automated testing solutions for IP telephony systems, today announced that Bill Rossi, president and CEO of Greenfield Networks and former vice president and general manager at Cisco, has joined the company's board of directors. The addition of Rossi further strengthens Clarus' board as the company expands to meet growing demand for its ClarusIPC(R) testing software for Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephony systems.

"Bill Rossi is one of the most highly-respected network industry executives, with decades of experience in growing billion-dollar businesses," said Brendan Reidy, Clarus Systems CEO. "We are extremely proud to have an executive of his caliber on the board as we grow to meet the huge market opportunity for Clarus' automated, scalable VoIP testing solutions."

Rossi is currently president and CEO of Greenfield Networks and brings over 20 years of technology leadership to the Clarus board. Prior to joining Greenfield, he was vice president and general manager of the Wireless Networking Business Unit at Cisco. In just five years during Rossi's tenure, Cisco's wireless business was on track for $1 billion in annual sales and 70 percent market share. Rossi also served as senior director of marketing for Cisco's Desktop Switching Business Unit, where he contributed to the group's growth from revenues of $40 million to $1.7 billion. He joined Cisco as part of the Grand Junction Networks acquisition in 1995, and he also worked in a variety of product marketing positions at Quantum Corporation. Rossi holds an M.B.A from Harvard Business School and a B.A./B.S.E.E. from Dartmouth College.

"Clarus Systems offers an Internet telephony testing solution unlike anything else on the market today," noted Rossi. "With Clarus, systems integrators and enterprises can be confident that the functionality and quality of their large-scale Internet telephony system is completely and automatically tested and verified. VoIP telephony is poised for explosive growth, and I am looking forward to contributing to the strategic direction of this well-positioned company."
