NetCourier, Inc. Reenters the Secure Email Encryption Market with a Suite of Products Suitable for Any Size Organization

Posted on: Friday, 21 November 2003, 06:00 CST

SANTA MONICA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 20, 2003--

NetCourier, Formerly MicroVault, Introduces Two New Products for

Low Cost, Easy and Secure Delivery of Sensitive Information

NetCourier, Inc. has just announced a new release of NetMail Secure(TM) (V4) and new products NetMail Secure5(TM)and NetCourierWeb(TM) for desktop and enterprise-wide secure email encryption and delivery.

NetMail Secure4 (aka "Envelope98"), a desktop email encryption product with over 25,000 copies sold, is likely the most widely deployed solution of its type. Companies including Exxon/Mobil, Hughes, Cigna, CSC, Amex, Honeywell and Rockwell have used it to encrypt and send sensitive information to partners and customers allowing the recipient to decrypt, edit, re-encrypt and return the document without having to download any software on their computer.

Introducing NetMail Secure5, a new low-cost desktop secure email product for organizations of all sizes that provides many of the same benefits as NetMail Secure4, but with newer technologies better suited for secure communications with consumers and organizations with restrictive email domains. A key enhancement includes a Java-based encryption and delivery module using the government approved 256-bit AES encryption algorithm, but with the same ease of installation and use without recipient side software necessary to decrypt, view and save the document.

According to Matt Cain, META Group, "Our research shows that email has surpassed the telephone as the preferred tool for business communications. So whether driven by regulatory compliance issues resulting from HIPAA or Gramm-Leach-Bliley, customer demand or economic factors, organizations are being forced to provide highly secure email communications with their many constituents."

Bob McDonald, CEO, "While email is the killer app for this time, secure email has yet to receive its due, in large part because of the complexity of encryption. All NetCourier products are designed to be low-cost, easy to deploy and even easier to use and maintain -- driving greater adoption and use by businesses and with consumers."

The Company continues to market its flagship server-based product, NetCourier(TM), used by several Fortune 1000 companies for high-volume, automated delivery of documents such as bills, statements and reports to large numbers of customers, partners and employees. All NetCourier products are extensively tested and proven to operate on any desktop computer with a browser and an email client that allows attachments including Mac. Reasonable license costs, simple installation, easy deployment and maintenance, make NetCourier's full set of products affordable for any size organization and at the lowest TCO available.
