SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 28, 2003--
Innovative Features in Full-Version Upgrade to Photoshop
Deliver Critical Functionality to Video Professionals
Adobe Systems Incorporated (NASDAQ:ADBE) today announced the availability of the Adobe(R) Video Collection Professional edition, which now includes the newly launched Adobe Photoshop(R) CS in addition to Adobe(R) Premiere(R) Pro, Adobe After Effects(R) 6.0 Professional edition, Adobe Audition(TM), and Adobe Encore(TM) DVD software. With breakthrough new features for video professionals, including non-square pixel support, comprehensive 16-bit image support, and a new vector paint engine, Adobe Photoshop CS is now -- more than ever -- a key component of the Adobe Video Collection.
"Photoshop CS will become an indispensable tool in our workflow," said Scott Billups, digital moviemaker. "From support for non-square pixels to 16-bit color editing, Photoshop CS offers a broad palette of professional tools essential for motion graphics professionals."
The full-version upgrade successor to Photoshop 7.0, Adobe Photoshop CS removes the guesswork for film and video professionals designing sequences for DVD, video and film. Non-square pixel support allows video professionals to accurately create imagery for on screen display by enabling them to view the image as it would appear on the destination device. Users can create with confidence using preset video-standard sizes, including automatic action-safe and title-safe guides. Photoshop CS also provides 16-bit color support to preserve the rich color palette of film and is tightly integrated with Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Encore DVD and Adobe After Effects. A new vector paint engine simulates traditional art techniques, including charcoal, pastel, and wet or dry brush effects.
The Professional edition of the Adobe Video Collection delivers: tools for editing digital images; motion graphics and visual effects; real-time video and audio editing; and DVD authoring. Adobe Premiere Pro, the latest version of Adobe's award-winning video editing software, has been redesigned to provide a real-time editing environment, along with productivity enhancements and professional tools that take advantage of the speed of Intel(R) Pentium(R) based systems running Windows(R) XP. After Effects 6.0 includes powerful new tools that enable users to add stunning motion graphics and visual effects to their video and film productions. Adobe Audition provides a complete multi-track recording studio to efficiently create professional-quality audio. Adobe Encore DVD gives users the ability to create professional, multi-language DVDs and output to all recordable DVD formats for a wide degree of playback compatibility.
