Cable ONE, Nexstar Broadcasting and Misson Broadcasting Reach Retransmisson Agreement

Posted on: Monday, 19 December 2005, 12:00 CST

Cable ONE, Nexstar Broadcasting Group, Inc. (Nasdaq:NXST), and Mission Broadcasting Inc., announced an agreement today that will allow the cable operator to carry Nexstar and Mission Broadcasting broadcast stations throughout the Cable ONE systems. Last year, several Cable ONE systems had to drop three Nexstar Broadcasting stations, KSNF, KTAL and KAMR, and one Mission Broadcasting station (KODE) when the two companies could not reach a retransmission agreement. The agreement is effective immediately, which means Cable ONE customers will once again be able to view these stations' network programming and local news.

"We are very happy to have reached a mutual agreement with Nexstar," said Jerry McKenna, Vice President of strategic marketing for Cable ONE. Our customers value the programming on the Nexstar and Mission stations, and we are thrilled we can now provide it. Cable ONE, Nexstar and Mission will be able to work together in a business relationship for many years with this agreement."

"We are pleased to restore cable carriage of KSNF, KODE, KTAL and KAMR to Cable ONE in their respective communities, and to insure the continued carriage of Nexstar and Mission stations in other Cable ONE operating areas," said Perry Sook, CEO of Nexstar Broadcasting Group. "We look forward to a mutually beneficial relationship with Cable ONE in the years ahead."

Cable ONE, the cable division of The Washington Post Company, operates 52 cable systems serving 720,000 subscribers in 19 states.

Nexstar Broadcasting Group, Inc. currently owns, operates or provides sales and other television services to 46 television stations in 27 markets in 10 states. Nexstar's television station group includes affiliates of NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX and UPN, and reaches approximately 7.0% of all U.S. television households.
