Nigeria: Zimbabwean Farmers Will Not Displace Local Farmers - Official

In another development, the Nasarawa and Oyo States governments have began discussions with the Zimbabwean farmers on the implementation of a joint agricultural venture.
After a meeting between representatives of Kwara, Nasarawa, Oyo, Kogi States, and the Zimbabwean farmers at Shonga, Kwara State, the minister of agriculture, Malam Adamu Bello explained that the involvement of the white farmers in Nigerian agriculture was not to displace the smallholder farmers.
According to the minister it is to help in improving the technical knowledge, encourage large-scale farming in Nigeria.
