Iranian Radio broadcasts are very popular in Turkmenistan, Iranian Radio reported on 18 December.
"It is because the radio is staffed with specialists skilled in religious and other issues," the report said, quoting a senior radio official identified as Hoseyn Ashur.
The radio report described Iranian Radio as a "reliable source of information" for the Turkmen public, and said external service radio broadcasts such as "Political Developments,""Faith and Perfection," and "Selected Quotes" were most popular among Turkmen listeners.
