Nokia Changes the Face of Mobile Imaging with New Phones

HELSINKI, Finland--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 9, 2003--

Nokia 3660 and Nokia 3620 Camera Phones Offer 65,500 Color Screen, Stylish Keymat, Xpress-on(TM) Covers

Building on the success of the Nokia 3650, the company's top-selling imaging phone launched last year, Nokia is now introducing the Nokia 3660 and Nokia 3620 which further expand the company's imaging portfolio and extends the imaging experience to a wider consumer segment. In addition to an integrated high-resolution VGA camera for still picture and video capture, a video player and multimedia messaging (MMS) functionality, the Nokia 3660 and Nokia 3620 feature a 65,500 color display, a stylish key mat design, and a new range of Xpress-on(TM) covers. The tri-band Nokia 3660 (GSM/GPRS 900/1800/1900) is primarily for the European, Middle-East and Asia Pacific markets while the Nokia 3620 (GSM/GPRS 850/1900) phone is primarily for the Americas. Shipping is expected to begin during the fourth quarter of 2003.

The Nokia 3660 and Nokia 3620 phones are based on the Series 60 software package. Both products feature an integrated VGA camera and a video recorder for capturing video clips, as well as a RealOne Player for downloading and playing real-time streaming of content. The MMS functionality allows users to send images, video clips, text and sound to another compatible MMS-enabled phone or to an e-mail address. In addition, the Nokia 3660 and Nokia 3620 have extensive e-mail support and an XHTML browser to make accessing mobile services a richer experience.

Polyphonic ringtones (supporting up to 128 instruments and 24 chord polyphony)

Bluetooth wireless technology
