Training Center for Axerra Networks' Pseudo-Wire Solutions Opens in Korea

Posted on: Wednesday, 21 December 2005, 09:00 CST

Axerra Networks, "The Pseudo-Wire Company(TM)" and the leader in providing circuit emulation and service emulation solutions over packet access networks, today announced the opening of a new training center in Korea. The facility, dedicated exclusively to Axerra Networks' solutions, offers an extensive array of Axerra's award-winning AXN Pseudo-Wire Gateways and Access Devices(TM), as well as test equipment and various packet access technologies, including Carrier Ethernet and broadband packet radio. The training center is designed to provide current and future customers with comprehensive information, training, and support, and uniquely features a hands-on training program for Pseudo-Wire applications, including packet backhaul applications using Pseudo-Wires for mobile wireless operators.

"We are very excited about opening this new training center," said Gil Itkin, Axerra Networks' Vice President, Sales - APAC. "A facility such as this one reflects the dedication and commitment we have to our partners in the region, and is a strong indication of the strategic value of the Pseudo-Wire solution currently deployed in a variety of live networks in Korea."

Axerra Networks' Pseudo-Wire solutions enable mobile wireless operators, cable operators, competitive access providers, and incumbent carriers to extend IP plus legacy data and voice services in native format over Ethernet, IP, and MPLS networks. Legacy services, such as full-featured voice, Frame Relay, and Leased Line, can be integrated with in-demand IP services, such as Transparent LAN services, and be efficiently transported across high-speed, low cost packet access networks, such as Carrier Ethernet, cable HFC, xDSL, and broadband radio including WiMAX. Axerra's circuit emulation and service emulation Pseudo-Wire solutions provide a full-service alternative to TDM access, and are being deployed for a variety of applications including mobile wireless backhaul.

Axerra delivers Pseudo-Wires for mobile voice and data backhaul from a single platform with particular emphasis on scalability, port density, and resiliency. Axerra's Pseudo-Wire solutions enable the support of all generations of mobile wireless networks, preserve native signaling and features across packet networks, enable bandwidth sharing, control latency, jitter, and packet loss, and provide the high-precision clock recovery capabilities that are required for reliable mobile services. In addition, Axerra's AXNs are the industry's only access devices with T1/E1 interfaces that support the ATM traffic used in today's UMTS deployments.

"The training center offers the support resources and hands-on training that enables operators to maximize the benefits of Axerra's powerful Pseudo-Wire solutions for applications such as mobile wireless backhaul," added Mr. Itkin. For more information, contact Axerra Networks at APAC@axerra.com.

About Axerra Networks, Inc.

Axerra Networks is the leading provider of Pseudo-Wire circuit emulation and service emulation solutions over packet networks. Axerra's AXN Pseudo-Wire Gateways and Access Devices(TM) enable mobile wireless operators, cable MSOs, competitive access providers, and incumbent carriers to extend IP + legacy data and voice services in native format over Ethernet, IP, and MPLS networks. The result is greater operational efficiency, new revenue opportunities, and a smooth migration strategy to a single converged network, without stranding any revenue streams from profitable legacy services. With Axerra's Pseudo-Wire solutions, service providers can convert any packet access network (Carrier Ethernet, broadband wireless including WiMAX, cable HFC, xDSL, EPON/GPON, etc.) into a full-service alternative to TDM access.
