LOS ANGELES, Dec. 20 (Xinhua) -- An Air India Boeing 747-400 airliner made an emergency landing at Los Angeles International Airport after a tyre burst late Monday, airport authorities said.
Television footage showed that sparks were flying from the passenger plane when it made an emergency landing.
The Air India Flight 136, which carried 273 passengers and crew members, took off from the airport at 8:33 p.m. heading for New Delhi via Frankfurt.

The plane made a safe emergency landing within an hour after dumping fuel, the spokesman said.
More than 100 local firemen and medical workers were called to brace for worst situation, but no injures were reported.
