City Employees Help With Toy Drive
By The Idaho Statesman, Boise, The Idaho Statesman, Boise
Dec. 21–Nampa city employees will be Santa’s helpers today.
The Salvation Army has been sorting thousands of toys at the old Super Thrift Drug building in the Holly Shopping Center.
At 1 p.m. today, city employees will help move the donated toys across town to the Salvation Army gym on 12th Avenue South, where they will be distributed to families the following day.
Five hundred families have asked the Nampa Salvation Army for help this Christmas. Parents list what their children are hoping for, and volunteers sort through the toy donations and try to fill those requests.
Every child will receive a couple of toys, a clothing item and some stocking stuffers. Each family will also receive a large food basket.
This is the second year city employees have assisted the Salvation Army with this portion of the toy drive.
