American Airlines, Madison & Mulholland Team Up to 'Gift' VIP Customers at JFK Admirals Club Lounge

Posted on: Wednesday, 21 December 2005, 12:00 CST

NEW YORK, Dec. 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- American Airlines this week is distributing gift bags to its top customers who visit the new Admirals Club lounge at New York's JFK International Airport, partnering with Madison & Mulholland, a firm specializing in VIP product placement. Open since late August, the Admirals Club lounge caters to the comfort of American's best customers and their guests.

"In the spirit of the season, it's great to have the opportunity to thank some of our best customers while giving them some exciting new products to enjoy," said Rosemary Lovejoy, American's Premium Service Manager for New York.

The popularity of the goody-packed parcel is increasing as a way of getting to hard-to-reach upscale consumers.

"Particularly during the gift-giving season, it can be difficult to cut through the clutter to get products in front of the right audience," said Jane Ubell-Meyer, President, Madison & Mulholland. For many marketers, she says, the gift bag is a growing favorite.

"Gifting individuals who are able to influence sales is a great way to generate excitement and create 'buzz' around a product," continued Ubell- Meyer, who has assembled and distributed gift bags on behalf of some big-name clients, including bags for country music's greatest superstars. "Gift bags make it possible for VIPs and celebrities who have an impact on purchasing trends to try new products."

Among contents of the bags being distributed at American's JFK Admirals Club lounge -- along with brochures about AA's international routes, amenities and premium services:

* Anthony Dias Blue wine guide * Logitech's cordless optical mouse and accessories * Rocher Chocolates * Denman Pop-up Travel Brushes, sold at Sephora * GP Deva tea and gift certificate About American Airlines
