S2 Security Corporation Announces Collaboration With Milestone Systems
Posted on: Tuesday, 3 January 2006, 12:00 CST
WELLESLEY, Mass., Jan. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- S2 Security Corporation announced today that it is integrating XProtect Enterprise from Milestone Systems with its S2 NetBox(TM) integrated security management network appliance product line. The integration will give users access to advanced network video recording (NVR) capabilities integrated through the S2 NetBox browser- delivered user interface.
S2 has been enhancing the functionality offered through its network appliances to include video, identity management, and other functions beyond its core access control offering. "By integrating XProtect Enterprise, the S2 NetBox can now offer seamlessly integrated IP as well as analog video, both live and recorded, simultaneously through the same browser interface," said John L. Moss, CEO of S2 Security Corporation. "The Milestone product line impressed us because of the depth of its IP camera library and the overall quality of its design."
The S2 NetBox and Milestone XProtect Enterprise both reside on an IP network and interoperate by means of TCP/IP communications. "S2 was a natural partner for us because both companies share a total network orientation," noted Eric Fullerton, President of Milestone Systems, Inc. "The S2 NetBox offers users the ability to extend integrated security system management outside of the operations center to anywhere a network can reach."
Users of the integrated system benefit from the extensive IP video capabilities of XProtect and can use both the Milestone Windows-based client software and the browser-based S2 NetBox client as their needs dictate. S2 plans the general release of the integrated XProtect offering with version 2.2 of its software. The company will preview the capability at the Milestone Solutions and Developers Forum in Florida this coming February.
