ROCHESTER, N.Y., Jan. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Performance Technologies , a leading developer of integrated systems, platforms, components and software, today announced Teligent is using the company's Advanced Managed Platform(TM) products in their Teligent P90/E service creation platform. The Teligent P90/E provides value-added network services to telecom operators looking for increased revenues, differentiation and improved competitiveness.
The Teligent 90/E platform is based on a non-proprietary, open-standards hardware architecture, using software resources to combine cost-efficiency with key features such as flexibility, resource availability, high-fault tolerance and scalability. The solution addresses two of the greatest challenges for today's telecom operators -- time-to-market and managing capital expenditures. The platform supports technologies such as Voice over IP (VoIP) and media protocols, and is compatible with developments in 3G Open Services Architectures and Parlay.
"Performance Technologies' Advanced Managed Platform products are a perfect match for the Teligent 90/E because they reduce integration time and allow us to start development sooner," said Magnus Braxell, vice president of marketing for Teligent AB. "The addition of integrated products such as these illustrates our platform's flexibility and scalability, allowing us to offer a customized development solution to our customers."
Teligent will incorporate Performance Technologies' ZT5091 fully managed 4U platform and CPC5505 Intel(R) Pentium(R)-based single board computer, all of which are PICMG(R) 2.16 compatible and part of Performance Technologies' Advanced Managed Platform offering. The Advanced Managed Platform offering is comprised of Performance Technologies' embedded packet products and offers the most complete set of high availability, fully managed, platforms, slot functionality and software on the market. It provides equipment manufacturers the basis to go beyond five-nines availability while handling the high-performance computing requirements of next-generation, packet-based systems. Advanced Managed Platforms are designed to be application-ready, minimizing time-to-market for equipment manufacturers like Teligent.
"Teligent stakes its reputation on delivering advanced, comprehensive and flexible solutions that increase network usage and revenue streams for carriers and service providers worldwide," said Ed Bizari, vice president of marketing for Performance Technologies. "We're pleased Teligent is using us as a key supplier, and believe this is the beginning of a strong, long-lasting relationship."
