The multinational IT giant Intel and Korea's SK Telecom have signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate in making mobile phone content such as mobile games, music services and mini homepages available on TV. Intel Korea said the two companies will cooperate to let users watch mobile content developed by SK Telecom on a digital TV connected to a personal computer with built-in VIIV, Intel's new digital entertainment platform.
SK Telecom's contents include Cizle, a movie service, GXG, a game service, and the Cyworld mobile mini homepage. The two will also join hands to develop a multimedia message service (MMS) and web-to- phone service. Intel's VIIV technology enables users to access music, video and games stored on a PC from their TV. The two firms last June signed another MOU [memorandum of understanding] that led to the release of a PC using Melon, SK Telecom's mobile music service, as a new user interface.
