NEW YORK, Jan. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Jon Bond, Co-founder and Co-Chairman of kirshenbaum bond + partners announced today that Barry Lowenthal will join the agency on February 1 as Managing Partner/President of The Media Kitchen, a kbp company. In his new role, Lowenthal will run the 40-person department and will report directly to Bond and Richard Kirshenbaum. Lowenthal had previously worked at kbp in the media department from 1992 to 2000.

"We are thrilled to welcome Barry back to kbp," said Bond. "His strategic and creative approach to media and communications and his great spirit and humor are a perfect fit for The Media Kitchen and kbp's senior management team."

"I've always said I've spent my formative years at kbp, so it's especially exciting to return as head of The Media Kitchen," said Lowenthal. "The Media Kitchen has become an important media brand that stands for outstanding strategic media thinking and innovation. This is the era of media creativity and I can't think of a more creative media agency to be a part of."

Lowenthal joins kbp from his post as Media Director at Bartle Bogle Hegarty. At BBH, Lowenthal was instrumental in such accounts wins as Levi Strauss, ING Direct, Gold Toe and SUV Safety. He is also responsible for tripling the size of the media department in his tenure and for keeping the agency informed of all emerging technologies.

Additionally, Bond announced the promotion of Charles Pinkerton to Partner/Director of Client Services at The Media Kitchen. In this new role, Charles will work in close conjunction with Barry Lowenthal on business development and client management. Charles joined The Media Kitchen in 2002 as Group Media Director. Prior to that, he served as Senior Vice President of Interactive Marketing and Media at The Martin Agency. He has also worked at Ammirati Puris Lintas and the Internet advertising agency THINK New Ideas, which was founded by the originators of MTV.

"Charles' media savvy, business acumen and client management skills are invaluable to kbp," said Bond. "We are eager to watch The Media Kitchen continue to make history with Barry and Charles at the helm."
