Furukawa America Inc. Expands CATV Products; Adds Wideband Analog Photodiodes By OKANO

Furukawa America Inc. announced today the expansion of its communications products to include wideband and standard analog PIN photodiodes for CATV/Broadband transmission systems.
Manufactured by OKANO in Yamato, Japan, OKANO uses a YAG welding process to produce photodiodes that offer higher reliability under diverse environmental conditions. These receptacle and pigtail PIN photodiode modules are Telcordia GR-468-CORE qualified; provide low inter-modulation distortions and wider frequency response.
OKANO is a market leader in CATV communications products in Japan and a key supplier of CATV products for the Fiber-To-The-Home nationwide project currently underway in the country.
Furukawa America is a supplier to CATV, FTTH, data and telecommunications industries throughout North and South America. The company's expansion to include OKANO photodiodes will increase its presence in the CATV, wireless, and wideband analog transmission system markets.
