SEOUL, Korea--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 5, 2003--Seodu Inchip announced it is now offering the Universal Scan JTAG debug tool to customers in Korea. Universal Scan provides designers and technicians with a unique new way to debug prototype circuit cards -- especially those with BGAs -- that is quick, easy and inexpensive via the JTAG port on their devices. This in turn means quicker debug cycles and faster time to market for products.
Universal Scan, from Ricreations Inc., lets the user virtually "see" the operation of signals under a BGA (or any other JTAG-enabled package) in real-time on a PC screen. The tool also allows the user to manually force pins to a known state to do simple continuity testing.
"Universal Scan provides SEODU INCHIP customers tremendous access to circuit card signals without the need for test fixture development or any of the tedious time consuming tasks normally associated with test development. This is especially important on initial prototypes where the design is not stable and there are no test fixtures yet," said Bu Il "Billy" Jeon of SEODU INCHIP. "And since Universal Scan is not vendor specific - it works on any part with a JTAG interface - it can be used on any FPGA, PLD, Microprocessor, DSP, ASIC, etc."
The team at Ricreations Inc. has seen tremendous acceptance of this new debug technique and is thrilled to have SEODU INCHIP help introduce the technology to the Korean design community. "Boundary Scan has been around for over 10 years and while there are many tools that take advantage of it in manufacturing test, there aren't any that provide simple, quick and inexpensive access to the JTAG data to help engineers and technicians debug initial prototype circuits -- until now," said Rick Folea, Chief Technical Officer at Ricreations Inc.
