Avvenu Wins 2006 Mobility Award; The 2006 Mobility Awards Honor the Best Mobile Computing and Wireless Data Communications Products and Services

Avvenu, Inc. was honored by MobileTrax LLC, a leading source of information on the mobile computing and wireless data communications industry, with a 2006 Mobility Award for Avvenu, a new remote access and sharing service. The Avvenu service lets business users and consumers securely access their office and home computers directly from their web-enabled mobile device. Launched this past September, Avvenu has also been honored recently with a 2006 PC World Innovations Award and the MobileTrax Best of Mobile Technology Award.
In addition to accessing their own content, Avvenu users can quickly and securely share access to their content with colleagues, friends and family. Avvenu users can securely access important documents when traveling, share pictures while still on vacation or distribute large files to colleagues -- in seconds. Avvenu also recently released a powerful new feature that lets users search their desktop computer from any web-enabled mobile device using Google Desktop Search.
"There's a need to honor the best and finest mobile computing and wireless data communications products and services," said J. Gerry Purdy, Ph.D., Chief Analyst with MobileTrax LLC. "Avvenu earned this year's recognition with remote access technology that provides links to files rather than pushing attachments and objects -- providing a much more efficient and effective use of bandwidth and modality of the device."
While Avvenu offers its service directly to consumers, the company is also working with major corporations to enable them to deliver this capability to their customers. At last week's Consumer Electronics Show, Motorola announced Motorola Share, a free service based on Avvenu technology that provides mobile users with on-the-go image access and sharing capabilities from a wide range of Motorola mobile devices -- including the popular RAZR, ROKR, and V557 models. Recently, Avvenu announced that the service is optimized for Palm devices, including the Palm(R) Treo(TM) 650 smartphone, the LifeDrive(TM) mobile manager, and the new Palm TX handheld with affordable Wi-Fi connectivity. The service gives Palm customers fast access to their files, folders and photos directly from their Palm devices. Avvenu also provides integrated support for Adobe's Photoshop(R) Album Starter Edition 3.0 and Photoshop Elements 4.0.
