Flextronics Software Systems (FSS), a global end-to-end communication solutions provider, announced the availability of Intelligent Switching Solution-IPv6, for Ethernet switching equipment based on Broadcom's industry-leading StrataXGS(R) III family of highly integrated Ethernet switch silicon solutions. Flextronics Software Systems' data communication products were earlier sold under the FutureSoft brand.
Based on the Broadcom(R) StrataXGS III switching silicon, ISS-IPv6 is an OEM-ready pre-integrated software solution for pizza-box & chassis reference designs. The IPv6 ready switching solution offered by Broadcom and Flextronics Software Systems will address the Access and Enterprise markets. FSS' Intelligent Switching Solution-IPv6 software is an OEM-ready, standards-compliant, flexible, comprehensive switching software solution, with Layer-2 switching and Layer-3 (IPv4 and IPv6 suites) switching capabilities.
Commenting on the announcement, Mr. Ajay Gupta, Assistant Vice President & Head, Products Business at Flextronics Software Systems, said, "Our collaboration with Broadcom is a strategic step towards meeting the growing demand for IPv6 switching, as many of our customers have already begun transitioning to IPv6. The solution is a great fit for enterprise applications that pack port density into modular systems for fault-resilient network deployments."
He added, "Broadcom is a recognized world leader in the IP-Ethernet switching silicon segment and the ISS with IPv6 support further strengthens our association that began 3 years ago."
Elaborating on the collaboration, Eric Hayes, Director of Product Marketing at Broadcom, said, "We are pleased to collaborate with FSS to target the enterprise and access segments. FSS' ISS IPv6 software is a complete IPv6 routing suite available today. Integrating this technology into our innovative StrataXGS III switch products will provide customers full IPv6 functionality and allow us to take a key leadership role in provisioning IPv6 networks worldwide."
