LAGOS, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) -- The Nigerian government has ordered the suspension of anther private airlines after deadly air crashes late last year, an official statement said on Tuesday.
The task force on the verification of air worthiness of aircraft operated by commercial airlines advised the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority to ground EAS airlines pending the rectification of certain deficiencies in its aircraft, the statement said.
Nigerian Minister of Aviation Babalola Borishade, set up the task force after the crash of a Sosoliso Airlines aircraft last December in the southern city of Port Harcourt where 106 people on board were killed.
This came seven weeks after a Bellview Airlines aircraft crashed on the outskirts of Lagos, killing all 117 people on board.
