Telecom Industry Veteran Ori Sasson Joins LiteScape Board of Directors
Posted on: Wednesday, 18 January 2006, 09:01 CST
LiteScape Technologies, Inc. (www.litescape.com) today announced it has named telecommunications industry veteran Ori Sasson to its board of directors. The expansion of the board coincides with strong business momentum and growth during 2005 as LiteScape's IP telephony solutions show continued market acceptance from both partners and customers.
Sasson has experienced tremendous success leading start-ups and established high technology companies in all stages of their business. He has chaired and founded pioneering companies in wireless carrier services, global transportation logistics and managed services. Sasson served as chairman and CEO of Scopus Technology, a company he co-founded in 1991 and which maintained seven years of uninterrupted profitability under his leadership. Sasson guided Scopus from its inception through a highly successful IPO and until its merger with Siebel Systems in April 1998. Sasson also served as president and CEO of Genesys Telecommunications Laboratories and managed the company's acquisition by Paris-based Alcatel in January 2000.
"LiteScape has quickly become a company to watch in IP telephony and has entered a period of rapid growth that ties nicely into my skills and experience," said Sasson. "With a unique and powerful software platform for converged IP applications, a seasoned and complementary management team, and partnerships with global giants AT&T, Cisco and Avaya, the company is poised to become a key player in the emerging enterprise VoIP market."
"We have very deliberately built a team of top notch telecommunications, networking, IT and startup veterans over the past two years, and Ori's addition to our board continues along that path," said Farzad Naimi, chairman and CEO of LiteScape. "After a very successful year in which we tripled our customer base, strengthened our partnerships with Cisco and Avaya, and signed an important agreement with AT&T, we expect to see our solutions reaching deep into the market, both in North American and internationally, in 2006 and beyond."
