CHICAGO, Dec. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Stratos International, Inc. is announcing new high-performance optical transceivers based on Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing (CWDM). Housed in high-density, industry- standard Small Form-factor Pluggable (SFP) packages, they feature an APD detector, which allows for transmission distances to 80km. Currently available for SONET OC-48 / SDH STM-16, these transceivers are rated to 2.67Gbps to accommodate forward error correction applications. They are offered with DFB lasers and are available in eight (8) wavelengths: 1470nm, 1490nm, 1510nm, 1530nm, 1550nm, 1570nm, 1590nm and 1610nm. Stratos CWDM transceivers offer a convenient, cost-effective solution to increase bandwidth in existing SONET/SDH infrastructures without adding new fiber.
All Stratos SFP CWDM models provide support for SFF 8472 Digital Diagnostic Monitor functionality. This allows real-time access to device operating parameters such as transceiver temperature, laser bias current, transmitted optical power, received optical power and transceiver supply voltage. Stratos also offers an evaluation board for these CWDM transceivers. The evaluation board allows a designer to run test traffic and verify performance while providing access to digital diagnostic monitor information through an easy-to-use Windows interface.
Pricing for Stratos International's CWDM SFP transceivers varies widely, depending on specific product chosen, options specified, and quantities ordered.
