Sun Certifies Emulex Host Bus Adapters and Drivers for the Solaris Operating System, SPARC and x86 Platforms

SANTA CLARA, Calif. and COSTA MESA, Calif., Oct. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Sun Microsystems, Inc. and Emulex Corporation today announced an expansion of its long-term alliance that will include support for the Solaris(TM) 9 Operating System, SPARC and x86 Platform Editions. The expanded support enables customers to improve productivity by reducing time spent on set up, installation, management and availability within enterprise and mid-range storage area networks (SAN). The companies have a shared commitment to open, standards-based computing to provide high performance, flexible, and scalable HBA and driver technology for SPARC and now x86 environments.

Additionally, Sun's certification of Emulex's host bus adapters and drivers for Solaris SPARC and x86 as Solaris Ready, enables end users to utilize the high performance LightPulse 2Gb/s line of PCI and PCI-X HBAs, which include LP10000, LP9802 and LP9002 product families.
