Elluminate, Inc., a leading provider of live eLearning and Web conferencing solutions for the real-time organization, announced that its vClass(TM) virtual classroom solution will be showcased on the Sun Microsystems(TM) Java.com site, beginning on October 28, as a prime example of a full-featured Java-based desktop application.
vClass enables the delivery of live, online learning, training, and meeting over the Internet for both business and academia. The easy-to-use, moderator-led environment delivers crystal-clear 2-way audio, interactive white boards, direct text messaging, and application sharing over the Internet, all in an integrated intuitive graphical interface. vClass is built specifically for live, multi-media collaboration. Elluminate's unique Java-based Collaborative Communication Framework (CCF) automatically ensures all components are completely integrated and automatically synchronized for optimal quality, ease of use, and performance, regardless of connection speed. The Java-based client provides universal access for Solaris, Windows, and MacOS users.
"Java technology is a great application development platform," said Hans Muller, CTO of Sun Desktop Division. "vClass really takes advantage of advanced Java technologies to implement features like Voice over IP and white boards. It is a prime example of what a full-featured Java desktop application can be."
"Elluminate is extremely excited to be recognized by Sun," said Mike Mabey, Elluminate's CTO. "We are committed to Java technology for our core development platform because we could write one version of vClass and run it anywhere. It allows us to support the inherently cross-platform nature of collaboration and training."
