Posted on: Monday, 23 January 2006, 12:00 CST

CompTIA's SoftwareCEO, Page ONE for Software Executives, today announced it is now offering a one of a kind informational resource to software vendors involved in the Software as a Service (SaaS) model of application delivery. Limited copies of the SaaS Special Report and the CompTIA Global Service Level Agreement (SLA) Navigator are now available at the SoftwareCEO Web site (www.softwareceo.com).

The SaaS Special Report provides current, practical advice on SaaS set-up, strategy, marketing, sales and pricing. The report analyzes case studies of successful SaaS implementations, such as Salesforce.com and OpSource. Contributors to the SaaS Special Report include leading SaaS companies Jamcracker, Blue Martini Software and Agile Software. Highlights of the SaaS Special Report include:

-- 14 Lessons from four independent software vendors (ISVs) that have made the transition to SaaS

-- 16 tips on marketing, selling and pricing

-- Hosted software - Where it works and where it doesn't

-- 10 facts to create SaaS value

The CompTIA Global SLA Navigator is designed to improve and streamline the process of drafting and negotiating service level agreements (SLAs) for software service providers and their customers. It offers a single point of reference for widely accepted metrics and definitions used in SLAs. The Global SLA Navigator is relevant to agreements for a wide range of software and information technology (IT) services, including financial applications, communications, customer resource management, human resources tasks, and payroll.

"The addition of the SaaS Special Report and the CompTIA Global SLA Navigator is part of SoftwareCEO's continued commitment to being the premier portal for information for software executives," said David Sommer, vice president, e-Commerce, CompTIA and publisher of SoftwareCEO. "According to IDC the SaaS market will increase over the next four years at a 21 percent compound annual growth rate, reaching $10.7 billion in 2009."

"SoftwareCEO has become a source of information and business resources that decision makers involved in taking advantage of this SaaS opportunity can rely on."

Software as a Service (SaaS), also known as software on demand, is a model in which software is accessed via the Internet or a private network, typically on a subscription basis. Software service providers deliver and direct these applications and services from remote data centers and mange implementation, maintenance, upgrades and customization.
