Rose author will appear on Catholic channel
Baton Rouge native Jim Bello, whose book of Catholic fiction, One Baby Rose, was recently released, will appear on Celebrating Her Spirit this week on Catholic Life Television (cable Channel 15).
Bello, who now lives in Tennessee, will discuss his new book on the program, which airs at 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 23; 7 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24; 10 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25; 8:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27; and 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29.

Hill CD becoming a reality
Fans of The WBs One Tree Hill already know that character Peyton Sawyer and her mother, a breast cancer patient, are working on a CD to benefit the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. Now that fictional compilation CD from the show will actually be released Feb. 7. Called Friends With Benefit, a portion of the CDs proceeds will go directly to the foundation.
The CD will feature original songs from Gavin DeGraw, Tyler Hilton and Bethany Joy Lenz.
The shows creator said he hopes this crossover will directly benefit One Trees biggest audience, young women, by promoting greater awareness of the benefits of early detection of breast cancer.
One Tree Hill airs at 8 p.m. Tuesdays on The WB (cable Channel 10).
Worth a look
Tempete Dans Un Verre De Vin (Storm in a Glass of Wine): 6:05 p.m. tonight, Jan. 22, TV5 Monde (cable Channel 66 in Lafayette area only). The program looks at just whos winning the battle of the grape.
Dog Friendly Cities: 7 p.m. tonight, Jan. 22, Fine Living (digital cable Channel 231). The hour-long special guides viewers to the best cities across the country to visit with ones pup. Look for tips on the top parks, bakeries groomers and hotels.
Al Pacino: An American Cinematheque Tribute: 9 p.m. tonight, Jan. 22, AMC (cable Channel 29). The one-hour special features celebrity friends and colleagues of the Oscar-winning actor, who share personal Pacino stories as they look back on his phenomenal career.
Tribute to Shelly Winters: all day and night Monday, Jan. 23, Turner Classic Movies (digital cable Channel 210). A 24-hour, 12- film tribute will honor the passing of the Oscar-winning actress. The tribute begins with He Ran All the Way at 7 a.m. and ends with The Scalphunters at 5 a.m.
Digging for the Truth: 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 23, History Channel (cable Channel 47). Its the beginning of the second season, with host Josh Bernstein traveling the globe on adventure after adventure, seeking to answers some of the most enigmatic mysteries of the ancient world. This episode has the explorer and survival expert in the Peruvian Amazon to hunt for the ancient civilization of Chavin de Huantar.
A Little Thing Called Murder: 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 23, Lifetime (cable Channel 26). The new movie is based on the true story of mother and son con artists Sante and Kenny Kimes, who went on a scamming spree in the mid-1990s, that also involved slavery, grand theft and murder. Judy Davis, who played Judy Garland in Life with Judy Garland: Me and My Shadows, stars.
Catching the Comet: 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, Science Channel (digital cable Channel 101). In the one-hour special, follow the first U.S. space mission, in 2004, dedicated solely to the exploration of a comet and the first robotic mission designed to return comet dust to the earth for scientific analysis.
The Emperors New School: 6:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, Disney Channel (cable Channel 24). Based on the 2000 theatrical movie The Emperors New Groove, the new animated series features the voices of several stars from the movie, including Eartha Kitt, Patrick Warburton and Wendie Malick, plus Rip Taylor, Curtis Armstrong and JP Manoux. The series regular timeslot will be 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Stargate Atlantis: 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, Sci Fi (cable Channel 59). Its Stargate times two as Stargate SG-1s Lt. Col. Samantha Carter (Amanda Tapping) guest stars.
Strange Days at Blake Holsey High: 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, Discovery Kids (digital cable Channel 100). The series is concluding with a two-hour movie in which the kids are graduating and all the bizarre mysteries of past episodes will be explained.
