NEC Solutions America Selects Sheffield to Lead Server and OEM Products Divisions; 30-Year Industry Pro Joins as Senior Vice President

RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 9, 2003--NEC Solutions (America), Inc., a leading provider of business solutions and services for the high-end commercial and professional markets in North America, today announced Larry Sheffield as the new senior vice president of its Server and OEM Products business units, which form the foundation of its integrated solutions platform.
Sheffield's appointment to this key post comes as NEC Solutions America prepares to unveil its enterprise services strategy, and underscores its growth as a leading integrated solutions provider. Sheffield brings more than 30 years of technology experience to NEC, including successful tenures with IBM Corporation (NYSE: IBM) and Silicon Graphics, Inc. (NYSE: SGI). He will be responsible for driving sales growth and marketing initiatives for both business units, and supporting the NEC Solutions America's integrated solutions and service approach.

Prior to SGI, he worked nearly 30 years for IBM Corporation where he developed and implemented e-business solutions for the IBM Storage Division with a focus on B2B for OEM and internal customers, and launched the first IBM Call Center. Sheffield graduated from Waynesburg College with a B.A. in history.
