Third Quarter Data Shows IBM Lead in Global Server Market Increasing

IBM today announced it continues to gain revenue and increase shipments for servers worldwide, according to a third quarter report from Gartner Dataquest. According to the independent researcher, IBM now commands 32 percent of the global server market increasing revenue by 4.7 percent over 2002(1).

IBM was the fastest growing UNIX vendor in the industry increasing revenue 5 percent and gaining 2.2 points of marketshare.

In Intel servers, IBM was the fastest growing vendor in terms of shipments, gaining 1.6 points of marketshare compared to the same quarter last year.
