TMC Communications Expands Qwest and AT&T Product Offerings, Adds New Agent Promotions

Posted on: Thursday, 18 December 2003, 06:00 CST

SANTA BARBARA, Calif., Dec. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- TMC Communications today announced it significantly expanded its offerings from national carriers Qwest and AT&T. TMC agents can now offer Qwest as an underlying carrier to their customers across the country. The telecommunications service provider also signed an agreement with the Alliance Group to add AT&T voice products to its comprehensive portfolio of services, effective January 1, 2004.

TMC will pay its agents per-order bonuses of up to $5,000 on any new voice, dedicated Internet access or private line orders placed with Qwest as the underlying carrier through May 29, 2004. The enhanced relationship with TMC and agent promotion come on the heels of the company announcing its long distance products are once again available nationwide. Earlier this month, the Federal Communications Commission unanimously approved Qwest's application to re-enter the long distance market in 14 states.

In addition to the existing data products TMC now offers via the AT&T network, its newly expanded agreement enables agents to sell dedicated and switched long distance as well as international toll-free service. Also available are loops as low as $250 in select areas. TMC will pay a $500 bonus on a DS1 voice order placed with TMC using AT&T as the underlying carrier through March 31, 2004.

"Simply put, TMC is a company dedicated to helping its agents sell," said John D. Marsch, founder, chairman and CEO of TMC Communications. "We work hard to negotiate carrier agreements that not only empower our agent partners with competitive products for their customers, but enable us to provide incentives for their own benefit."

The Qwest Bonus Explained

The bonus for a voice DS1 line is $500 and $1,250 for a DS3. A dedicated Internet access or private line order earns $250 for a DS1; $1,000 for a DS3; $2,000 for an OC3; and, $5,000 for an OC12.

TMC agents who place orders with Qwest as the carrier will receive their bonuses immediately following installation. The new contract covers all of the new states in which Qwest is now available, with the exception of Arizona where TMC expects to offer services in early January.

"TMC pays its agents their commissions based on billed revenue, which means they are paid right away," said Marsch. "Between that and our industry- wide reputation for paying on time, we are hoping to demonstrate to agents throughout the industry that TMC will do what it takes to help our partners succeed."
