Encentuate TCI Announces Support for Roaming Sessions to Further Extend Workflow Automation for Healthcare Providers
Posted on: Tuesday, 31 January 2006, 12:00 CST
Encentuate, Inc., a provider of enterprise access security solutions, today announced that the Encentuate TCI Solution for Healthcare now supports roaming sessions to extend the solution's best known workflow automation capability for healthcare providers. The roaming session functionality allows caregivers to access patient information without having to initiate a new session at every workstation they visit during their shifts.
With roaming sessions, Encentuate TCI allows caregivers to securely access patient information on a shared workstation. The roaming session functionality allows caregivers to move to another workstation within the healthcare enterprise and continue their work from exactly the same place that they left off. The solution also automates walk-off security to guard unattended workstations and protect confidential patient information from the risks of unauthorized access.
"Nurses and doctors need to roam between patients and examination rooms, and Encentuate TCI's support for roaming sessions truly makes access to clinical workstations seamless and automated," said Thomas F. Kelly, chief executive officer of Encentuate. "Support for roaming sessions is a major extension of the well known workflow automation capability of our product, and will result in even faster and easier access to patient information. Encentuate TCI truly allows caregivers to work efficiently and effectively from wherever they are in the hospital without worrying about the requirements imposed by stringent security policies."
Benefits of Encentuate TCI for healthcare providers include:
-- Improved quality of patient care and patient safety through access workflow automation and context management for HIT applications
-- Risk management and protection of patient information through the widest choice of second factor authentication and user-centric access tracking
-- Improved productivity of caregivers through roaming sessions and access workflow automation
-- Centralized management of information access through comprehensive identity and policy management
-- Easy integration and fast deployment without any modifications to existing infrastructure
-- Regulatory compliance with out-of-box HIPAA compliance
For the roaming session capability, the user's desktop session runs on a remote Citrix or a Windows Terminal Server so that the caregivers can reconnect to the same desktop session from any local workstation. For enhanced security and convenience, providers may choose from a wide range of authentication factors, including building access badges, smart labels, active proximity cards, biometrics, USB smart cards and cell phone authentication.
Encentuate TCI Solution for Healthcare delivers comprehensive identity and access management and provides healthcare providers with automation of access workflows, the widest choice of authentication factors, and powerful centralized policy administration. With Encentuate TCI, organizations can finally leverage the power of an integrated identity and access management solution to improve the quality of patient care and patient safety, improve staff productivity, protect confidential information, and comply with regulatory requirements.
