Asyst Announces 15th Design Win for Its Interface A Software
Posted on: Wednesday, 1 February 2006, 06:00 CST
Asyst Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:ASYT), announced today that its Interface A software has been selected by a large equipment manufacturer for implementation on five unique tool types. This is the 15th design win for Asyst's Interface A software products. These orders further increase Asyst's leading market share for 300mm connectivity solutions. Evaluations are ongoing with a number of additional equipment suppliers, reflecting chip makers' increasing requirement for Interface A on 300mm tools.
Asyst's Interface A solutions for OEMs consist of the company's Equipment Information Bridge(TM) (EIB) technology product for equipment data acquisition (EDA). EIB can be implemented on-tool or off-tool depending on the user's needs, and gives fabs, discrete process manufacturers, and software application developers unprecedented direct access to real-time data from manufacturing equipment. NexEDA(TM) brings together Asyst's highly successful SECS/GEM, 300mm and EIB software in a single product offering.
"Semiconductor OEMs are increasingly turning to Asyst to implement Interface A standards on semiconductor process and metrology equipment due to our products' flexibility, ease of implementation and quality. We are seeing increased interest and experiencing unprecedented commercial success with our Interface A suite of products," said Jim Holliday, vice president of software product marketing for Asyst. "These design wins from leading industry OEMs, often in side-by-side comparison with other available products, highlight the growing acceptance of Interface A as an industry standard, and more specifically of Asyst's implementation of the standard."
All of the company's connectivity products have a reputation for reliability, performance, and compliance with industry standards and these are major factors generating market acceptance. Asyst's Interface A solutions are fully compliant with the complete set of SEMI EDA requirements, including E120, E125, E132 and E134.
