Vault Surveys: Microsoft Employees Optimistic

Posted on: Wednesday, 1 February 2006, 15:00 CST

Microsoft employees remain optimistic on the future of the company, New York research firm Vault has found in new employee surveys on software giant Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT). The survey results can be accessed on Vault.com.

Vault's employee surveys give investors and jobseekers insight into the company's business operations.

Says a program manager, "Business outlook is still very strong - revenue pipelines, new products to be released within the next couple of years. Employee morale is not the best. Longhorn setbacks are an affect on the whole company - but they are pulling through and hopefully the stock will finally go up again. Still the #1 software company in the world - no question!"

A program manager writes, "Microsoft is the biggest and most successful software company in the world. They are very stable, have a wide variety of products, and know how to ship software. They are also aware that they need to adapt to face competition, and we will see how that goes."

A software engineer in test adds, "This is a mature company, will grow steadily like IBM but the get-rich-quick mentality of the 90's is definitely gone."

An operations manager adds, "Overall the company is exceedingly sound both in terms of personnel capability and finances. Biggest strength is the capability of the personnel and global scope of the firm. Greatest weakness is lack of diversity and corporate politics."
