Feb. 2--Police continued to investigate the hit-and-run death of a WVU nursing student Wednesday, but have no further leads in the case so far, officials said. Marion County Prosecutor Pat Wilson said he could not comment on whether police have any suspects, or who they are interviewing in the investigation. "About all I can say is it continues to be under investigation," Wilson said. "Police are following up on all of the leads. Evidence is still being evaluated." Erin Marie Keener, 21, of Rivesville, was struck by a vehicle just after midnight Nov. 23, 2005 at Merchant and Guffey streets in Fairmont. The driver left the scene. Shortly after, a female friend of Keener's found her lying on the road and dialed 911. Keener was transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital, where she remained in critical condition until she died later that day. Police said red paint chips from the vehicle that struck Keener and evidence from Keener's clothing have been sent to the W.Va. State Police lab in Charleston for evaluation. Anyone with information about the fatal hit-and-run is asked to call Fairmont Police at 366-4200.
