New Video Distribution Product is Ideal for Large Scale Installations Such as Stock Exchanges, Airports, and Sports Venues

MILFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 25, 2003--

Logical Solutions Introduces Single Fiber Video Extender

Logical Solutions (www.thinklogical.com), developer and manufacturer of leading edge products for the distribution and extension of digital video (DVI) announces their latest product the DTX-1D which permits the extension of digital video up to 500 meters (1,640 feet) over a single fiber. Under normal conditions digital video requires the monitor and computer to be within 3 meters (9.84 feet) of each other. The DTX-1D provides freedom from this distance constraint with simple plug-and-play connection to new or existing fiber infrastructure. Each DTX-1D system consists of a pair of compact electronic units connected by a single strand multi-mode fiber optic cable. The transmitter unit connects to the computer with a 2 meter DVI-D male-to-male cable and the receiver unit connects to the monitor or projector with a second 2 meter cable. Both DVI-D cables are supplied. The receiver module requires an AC/DC power converter which is supplied with the system while the transmitter is powered by the video card in the CPU. The system is full DDC2B compliant. "The innovation of the DTX-1D product and its single fiber technology will provide greater flexibility for organizations with existing fiber optic infrastructure, permitting them to increase the number of monitors or projectors without the expense and downtime associated with pulling more cable", states Kevin Keefe, Logical Solutions' Director of Engineering. "In new applications customers will benefit from lower fiber cost and ease of installation over other available video extension products" Keefe adds.
