ExchangeBlvd.Com Establishes AIDSReliefAuction.Org to Fund Disease Research and Relief Efforts; Charity Auction Features Celebrity Items and Memorabilia
Posted on: Tuesday, 7 February 2006, 09:00 CST
ExchangeBlvd.com (OTC: EXBV.PK), a leading provider of online auction services, expands its marketplace with AIDSReliefAuction.org, a charity initiative to support AIDS related causes. AIDSReliefAuction.org will feature an impressive array of donated celebrity collectibles, fan experience events and entertainment merchandise. Since its inception in 1999, ExchangeBlvd.com's charity auctions have raised over $1 Million for non-profit and healthcare institutions.
ExchangeBlvd.com will develop AIDSReliefAuction.org through a series of corporate and non-profit partnerships. GeoVax Inc., a developmental stage biotechnology company specializing in AIDS and other human vaccines, which recently announced a merger agreement with Dauphin Technology, Inc (OTC: DNTK.PK), is the first corporation to commit to the project.
AIDSReliefAuction.org goes live in April, 2006. Unlike similar initiatives, 100% of the proceeds will go to AIDS related programs; ExchangeBlvd.com will assume the administrative costs typically deducted from public gifts. ExchangeBlvd.com will manage the sale with its propriety auction marketplace technology, procure merchandise, and grow the number of participating organizations. The company will also link AIDSReliefAuction.org to its subsidiaries, GolfClubExchange.com and InstrumentExchange.com.
"We're excited to use our online auction expertise for such a worthy cause. There has been tremendous interest in AIDSReliefAuction.org and we couldn't be happier with the response from celebrities, corporations and prospective bidders," comments Larry Tedesco, CEO and President of ExchangeBlvd.com. "With over 40 million people afflicted with AIDS worldwide, this auction is an opportunity for the public to help tackle the epidemic."
As part of ExchangeBlvd.com's efforts, the first moneys raised will help fund GeoVax Inc.'s AIDS vaccine clinical trials in places such as India and Sub-Saharan Africa, where the disease has reached pandemic levels.
"ExchangeBlvd.com's commitment to raising awareness through AIDSReliefAuction.org and their history of successful online charity programs makes it an ideal partner," stated Don Hildebrandt, CEO of GeoVax, Inc. "This initiative will hopefully help bring GeoVax AIDS Vaccine clinical trials to global markets, and further the development and evaluation of a vaccine designed to safely prevent the clinical signs of AIDS."
