Posted on: Tuesday, 7 February 2006, 09:00 CST
Software Shelf has announced a major update (build 109) to its flagship product, Print Manager Plus. This update includes improvements to support the newest releases in printer driver languages, additional reporting features and streamling of its SQL database communications providing greater stability.
It is unique as the only print management and accounting software that supports all printer brands, meets Microsoft verifications and certifications, and having now been elected and posted as Microsoft(R) Public Sector "Solution of the Month" each month for the last four months for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, a region that holds some of the most diverse IT environments in the world with its 139 countries and multitude of languages and cultures.
This most recent update was delivered by the E-Update function within the Print Manager Plus interface. It is installed within a minute by the administrator. The value of this E-update function is it makes it easy for any administrator to keep the software current with new releases that can affect IT changes and printers anywhere in the world. There have been seven E-updates since its release with this enhanced functionality last September, enabling customers to reap the benefits of continuous product improvements.
Print Manager Plus requires no hardware add-ons, is a pure Windows "native" solution, and is easy to use by anyone who can operate Windows with licensing costs starting at $99.00 for the SOHO version. Software Shelf provides versions for all kinds of organizations including a version for Client Billing with Authentication to account for and bill-back printing and plotting cost to clients or job codes. It is the first Microsoft verified and logo certified software to support Hewlett-Packard(R) Multifunctional printers' (MFP) walk-up copying or printing.
It is the only third party software in the world included in Microsoft's new product, Learning Network Manager. It is desired by the education sector for reducing the costs of toner and paper with its printing quota and restricting system to control student printing costs. Average schools save over $1,000 per month by using Print Manager Plus, according to an industry study done on over 800 schools last year.
A fully functional trial version of Print Manager Plus can be downloaded at http://www.softwareshelf.com. It is supported by resellers worldwide and by Software Shelf offices in the US and UK with support provided in 13 European languages.
