EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn., Feb. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Xiotech(R) Corporation today announced that One Safe Place Media Corp., a provider of offsite data storage, selected Xiotech's Magnitude 3D(R) storage solution to provide improved data storage and disaster recovery services for its customers.
Based in the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas area, One Safe Place (http://www.onesafeplace.com/ ) serves as the leader in offsite data storage, supplying companies with electronic vaulting, traditional vaulting, film and video storage, and disaster recovery and planning services. For more than 20 years, the firm's knowledgeable staff has set the highest performance standards for client data protection through secure, information backup solutions.
Prior to the purchase of the Magnitude 3D system, One Safe Place used several server-attached storage units, making tracking and managing information difficult. One Safe Place is replacing these units with the Magnitude 3D storage system to create a single, easier-to-manage data center. The system will enable the organization to easily grow while using storage space more efficiently. In addition, the system's distributed availability, continuous storage performance, and server and storage independence will improve One Safe Place's ability to retrieve and maintain its customers' data in disaster situations.
"Xiotech's user-friendly interface, scalability and fail-over capabilities were key factors in our decision," said Rick Baird, business development leader, One Safe Place. "These attributes will allow us to save space and money, easily expand our data storage capacity and ultimately support our mission of keeping businesses in business."
Specifically, One Safe Place expects to benefit from the ease of management and clustering technology of the Magnitude 3D system. For example, One Safe Place staff will be able to administer the system internally via Intelligent CONtrol (ICON), Xiotech's easy-to-use Web-based management platform, enabling them to update and add storage configurations in real-time, without downtime or hiring a specialist or consultant.
"Magnitude 3D storage solutions are unique, easy-to-use systems that eliminate the need for planned downtime," said Mike Stolz, vice president of marketing at Xiotech. "This is critical to companies like One Safe Place that want to protect their customers' valuable data now and in times of crisis."
