Advanced Warning Systems, Inc. (AWS) Names JP Pollak Vice President of Product Development

Advanced Warning Systems, Inc. (AWS), developer of data integration and visualization solutions that overlay sensors and networks, today announced the appointment of John Paul (JP) Pollak as Vice President of Product Development, and a member of the AWS Strategy Board.

"Pollak brings market focused leadership experience to AWS," said Miles Moore, President and CEO of AWS. "His strong expertise in usability analysis, information visualization, and designing and developing software systems for desktop and mobile personal devices will help drive AWS' development of a market base to fully support our product growth strategy."

Pollak comes to AWS as a full-time member of the team, where he transitions from being a product engineering and development consultant for AWS. In his new role he will be responsible for every aspect of the product development cycle, and will oversee current and future software applications from conception to deployment.

In addition to his prior consultancy to AWS, Pollak previously served as an independent software and usability consultant for a number of biotech companies and research institutions, including Cornell University, the AZA, and Merial, a subsidiary of Merck. Pollak is credited with the development of many publicly available and commercial software applications, focused on data analysis, modeling and visualization in the areas of genetics, populations and epidemiology. Pollak also served as the Head of the Computer-Assisted Genetics Teaching Center software development team for Cornell University.

Pollak earned a bachelor's degree from Cornell University with studies in genetics and computer science and completed graduate work in Human-Computer Interaction.
